The Mammoth Book of Best Crime Comics

Peter Stanbury designed this book, The Mammoth Book of Crime Comics, edited by Paul Gravett, for Constable & Robinson as part of their long-established line of anthologies. The size of the paperback was a departure from the standard format, chosen to best suit the comic strips inside. The interior of the book is black & white throughout. Many of the comic strips were extensively restored by Peter from tattered pages and scraps of artwork, which was all that was left in some cases of these fine entertainments, many of which were rediscovered and researched for this title. The cover image is by renowned Spanish illustrator Jordi Bernet.
